Company picnics, the open spaces of Silesia's mining city
We service Ruda Slaska, and we design company picnics around the local tradition of works family festivals. This is the largest mining city in the European Union, where Saint Barbara's days, works celebrations and open-air events have bound together the crews of collieries and steelworks for generations. It is to this tradition that we match the script, the stage and the family-day activities.
The flagship open-air address is Strzelnica Park in Bielszowice. A brick amphitheatre with a concert shell provides a ready stage backdrop, while the sprawling park and woodland area with its alleys, ponds, playgrounds, pump track and outdoor gym lets the whole event unfold in a single place. Children are kept busy at the mini-zoo and playgrounds, adults have space for catering zones and a stage - which is why this park draws the most family festivals in the city. Before planning, we always confirm the technical condition of the shell, as there have been plans to demolish it.
The Fairgrounds in Wirek for mass-scale, concert-style picnics
When a picnic is meant to take on a larger, concert-style scale, we head for the Fairgrounds in Wirek. This is the only paved event square in the city with full facilities: ground-level sound, cable connections for the stage and catering, sanitary units and CCTV. The Days of Ruda Slaska, with concerts that draw crowds, take place here, so the infrastructure is proven at mass events.
Its central position in Wirek makes it easy for crews to come in from different districts. For firms looking for a wooded, shaded feel, we have the Halemba (Borowski) Forest in Halemba - health trails, cycling and running routes and designated grill spots create a natural backdrop for team-building. This is the more intimate option: we bring in the stage, marquees, power and facilities in full, taking the logistics on ourselves.
Active days at Burloch Arena and on the water
An active day can be played out at Burloch Arena in Orzegow - a MOSiR multi-pitch facility with a roller-skating track, pump track, courts and pitches, with a cafe and ample parking on site. For team-building we draw on grounds with paintball, a zip line, climbing walls and bungee swings, and for water lovers we propose kayaking trips down the Ruda river, one of the most beautiful routes in Silesia, with a grill and campfire.
There are few natural waterside spots within the city itself, so we handle the water element flexibly: intimately by the ponds of Strzelnica Park, and for a larger family day we use Skalka in neighbouring Swietochlowice, where a pond sits beside an amphitheatre. For a hot day, or a plan B if the weather breaks, we have the indoor Aquadrom in Halemba.
Frequently asked
It depends on the scale. For a large family day with a ready stage, Strzelnica Park in Bielszowice is best, as it combines an amphitheatre, woods, ponds and attractions for children in one place. For a mass event and a concert we choose the Fairgrounds in Wirek with full infrastructure, and for intimate team-building among the trees, the Halemba Forest in Halemba.
May, June and September work best - the weather is settled and the green spaces are in full form. For a hot date it is worth having a water-based plan B in the programme, for example the indoor Aquadrom in Halemba, which saves the day even if the weather breaks.
We build on what is already there: playgrounds, a pump track, outdoor gyms and a mini-zoo in Strzelnica Park, or the playground with carousels in Skarbek Park. We add activities, sports zones at Burloch Arena, and for those keen we propose kayaking trips down the Ruda river with a campfire and grill.
